Table of Contents in a pages template document
I have a 50 page document that looks all neat and lovely, created using a template for Pages. I now need a table of contents. Can anyone help me here? Is it possible at all?

Peter,
The document was created using a template... It won't give me the TOC option. Looking at other discussion posts it looks like it can only be done in a 'basic' word processed document (ie no template). Is this your understanding?
Also, anyidea if I can apply a template to a basic word processed document that already has a TOC or wuld that just throw it out?
So you opened a Layout template?
Yes you need a Word Processing template because it scans styled text in the default text area between the margins of a WP document, it will not scan floating objects.
The two types of template are listed in the sidebar of the Template Chooser.
