Trying to restore back up to new iphone5 I followed these instructions: I went to settings - general - reset - erase all contents and settings - I erased all contents and settings. Prompted me to start over -- and I can't get past ACTIVATION. "Activation failed. Please retry activation.". Been doing that for about 30 mins now.
What do I do now?

try hooking your device to itunes and activating it that way

Apple's activation server is down nationwide.
We couldn't activate iPhones at my facility in Texas or Tennessee.
I'm sure it will be fixed quickly.

No, it won't work there either.
Just be patient.
I called Apple already and the support team had the same problem.
They sent the issue to the engineers.
