MacBook won't turn on?

Hi Everyone,

I have a MacBook (2009) and I cannot turn it on. I've been on holiday recently and since I've come home the computer has run out of power, and appears not to charge / turn on with the power adapter plugged in, even though the light on the power cord does turn on. I know the battery is not charging because normally the lights on the bottom of the battery flash, or light up when the button is pressed, which it is not doing. If anyone has experienced this or perhaps knows what to do please leave a reply!!

The MacBook is out of date for any service & repairs and so I assume that I would have to pay for anything that needs to be fixed?

Read and follow all the steps.

A battery that has been left completely discharged for a prolonged period of time may be completely dead, unable to be recharged ever again. In that event it can be replaced in accordance with Step 6.

Hi there,

weirdly I just took the battery out a few times and kept putting it back in, and also unplugged and replugged the charger a few times, and it has now started up and is working! Thanks for replying with your help anyway, much appreciated!
