Q: why do some of my photos appear the right way up and others don't, after I transfer from PC to Ipad mini?

Can anyone tell me why my photos on my PC are correct way ip, but when placed on my IPad mini and IPhone 4S some are showing laying down.

Is ther a way to correct this please
