Q: mid 2011 Macbook Pro 13''. Keyboard not responding. on using USB keyboard, graphics very slow. track pad not working properly. not identifying USB drives for backing up. please help

Hello,

I own a Mid 2011 Macbook Pro with Lion. About a week ago i encountered the problem mentioned in the topic line. I pressed the power button, and after the usual login screen appears, I found that the keayboard was not responding, and on long pressing certain keys it made a funny sound. However, I thought of using a USB keayboard that I had, and to my relief I was able to log in. But immediately after login, It appeared that the graphics were not as usual, and even the track pad was not properly functioning. even with single finger touch, it appeared to be in 2 finger touch mode showing the rightclick functiones. below are some points I encountered and am really worried about.

  1. The keyboard is not responsive.
  2. trackpad is not properly functioning.
  3. graphics appeared to be very slow that usual. the frame rate was extremely slow.
  4. no applications were opening.
  5. no USB drives except the USB keayboard and mouse were identified. Hence no back up was possible.
  6. on using startup keys for attemting diagnostics. still was not possible.

Please help with proper guidelines, as I am not a technical person.

Thanks

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5), WQ035QWRATM
