Screen Flash when I press power button?

Hello All,

It's been a month since I purchased my iPad 4 and I'm really loving it. There's just something I want to check to make sure there's nothing wrong with it.

Since I've got it, it's happened twice that when I press the power button, the screen "flashes" (turns on and then off) requiring me to press the power button another time, after which the screen behaves normally.

Such an issue has not occured more than a couple of times, yet it worries me. Is this a bug in the software? Or a hardware problem I should attend to?

Any advice I could do with?

Thank you in advance.

iPad, iOS 6.1.3

What happens if you press the home button?

Does it turn on normally?

If its only happened twice it may be a glitch with the alignment of the power button. Its getting pressed twice. So it turns on and immediately turns off again.

Do you have the iPad in a case? Cases can sometimes produce issues with the buttons if they are not aligend properly.

If you start experiencing the issue more often, you can always take it back to the Apple Store, and they can give you a new one under Warranty if its found to be an actual defect.

When I press the home button, it turns on perfectly fine.

What do you mean by a glitch in the alignment of the power button? The iPad is in a case, but the case leaves the power button undisturbed.

Problem with the final suggestion is that I purchased the iPad from another country, so I don't think I can use the warranty over here.

Much appreciated for all the help.

The plastic button at the top is merely a cover for another smaller button underneath. Its possible its not perfectly aligned, so it pushes the inner switch more than once.

Its not very likely but it can happen.

As for the warranty, yes in that case you would need to go to the country of purchase to get it serviced.
