Q: Free-Standing iSight with FireWire to work with MacBook Pro Retina?

(1) To connect to Firewire, you will need Apple Thunderbolt to FireWire Adapter - Apple Store (U.S.)

(2) Depending on which cables and Firewire adapters you already have, you may need a

6 pin (FW400) to 9 pin Firewire (FW800) cable or adapter.

Some examples are shown in this link Firewire 400 800 Adapters, but several kinds of adapters and cables are widely available in stores on the web.

(3) Specific recommendations:

It is possible to get a bad adapter. Therefore, I suggest you buy more than one connector for testing if you encounter problems.
