Jul 26, 2013 9:28 AM in response to natetheradioby EZ Jim,(1) To connect to Firewire, you will need Apple Thunderbolt to FireWire Adapter - Apple Store (U.S.)
(2) Depending on which cables and Firewire adapters you already have, you may need a
6 pin (FW400) to 9 pin Firewire (FW800) cable or adapter.
Some examples are shown in this link Firewire 400 800 Adapters, but several kinds of adapters and cables are widely available in stores on the web.
(3) Specific recommendations:
• I have tested these http://tinyurl.com/ydsbb6m adapters and these http://store.apple.com/us/product/HA833ZM/A/ cables with my old iSights. Both work fine.
• These items have been used successfully by others who have posted here:

It is possible to get a bad adapter. Therefore, I suggest you buy more than one connector for testing if you encounter problems.
