    That worked for me.

A "Weather Radar" application must have been hanging on update.

I was able to solve for is by selecting "Purchased", selecting "All", and then using the alpha scroll bar on the left, I went through each letter one at a time to find which apps needed an update, selected "Update" for each individual one. I could not find the apps that needed to be updated any other way, but this worked!

    This worked for me.

    1. Open App Store

    2. Select All

    3. Select apps by letter ( left hand side of the screen )

    4. Look for apps requiring an update, letter by letter

Grateful I'm not the only one...

This worked for me as well...at least to update those apps that needed updating today.  It gets rid of the badge count.  However, the Updates screen still is blank instead of displaying "All Apps Are Up to Date" so I suspect this is a bandwidth, not a permanent fix.

Having same problem. Started out of the blue on a road trip on July 26, 2013. Must be an Apple issue. Guess I'll just wait to see if it resolves itself.

I too, have the same problem on my iPad 2. Update screen is blank white.

The number of updates keep growing. None of the suggestions fixes it.

I have far too many apps to look through the list manually.

Tried going through each letter in the Purchased section of the App Store but still couldn't find two apps needing updating. This solution cannot even temporarily solve this issue for me.

Here is where you can send feedback to Apple:

You need to choose both the ipad apps and then the iPhone apps. Stinks but it worked for me

Yep me too.  I have the iPad with retina display and this problem just started last night for me.  I've been reading everyone's suggestions and so far still the same.  Very frustrating to invest in something like this to have it not work properly nor offer a simple fix.

Same problem as everyone else. Workaround by updating apps via the purchased apps page got most of my apps updated, but doesn't solve the underlying problem. The updates page is still blank. We need to report this en mass to Apple at http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html.

I too have had this issues. Running latest iOS on iPad 2.

This temp workaround fixed it for me, although I have had to do it twice in 12 hours as I've had multiple apps get updates pushed out in the last 24 hours.

    1. Open App Store

    2. Select Purchased

    3. Tap on the A at the left to start with all purchased apps with the letter A

    4. Scroll down through purchased "A" apps and look for UPDATE next to the app instead of OPEN.

    5. Continue through alphabet until you've found all apps to be updated.

it's not your iPad it's the App store having trouble for the last couple of days. you can update by doing this

    1. go to App Store

    2. press Purchased instead of Updates

    3. scroll down & you will see each App that needs UPDATING - press on each one separately; update download starts

    4. do this for both iPhone Apps & iPad Apps (top left corner)

this worked wll for me; hope it works well for all until Apple can fix whatever mess caused this.

this was a much older way we used to have to do it; well & also put in the password each time.

funny that this is only on the iPad & not the iPhone! tho i had a problem with a couple on the iPhone because i purchased them with a very old Apple ID & password i haven't used in years....

i'd be interested to know if any of you used the new iCloud with the beta iWorks on it. that's when all the problems started for me - & not just with the App store. iCloud set up a new account for me using that old ID & Password; lost all contacts, calendars, memos, reminders. finally found the old account & everything restored.
