ipod freezes

...I'm having the exact same problem. I'm very interested in any ideas folks have out there. I tried plugging it into it's base for about 1 hour and all it did was make it very hot to the touch. It's still "locked" and on, mid-way through a song with back-light still on. Suggestions?

I've got the same problem. It will play 3 or 4 songs and start another and then freeze a few seconds into it. I keep holding down the buttons until finally it shuts off. The support says reload the ipod but I've done that several times and it hasn't helped. Suck's that these things are so expensive and their junk. Makes you wonder when the company of the product puts a disscussion forum on their website about their product and there's a mass flow of complaints.

Have any of you tried restoring the iPod?
