How much data does the iPhone 5 GPS use?
How much data does the GPS use when using the pre-installed Apple Maps use on the iPhone 5?
iPhone 5, iOS 6.1.4
The GPS actually does not use any data. So if you can find a program that has all the maps already on your iphone you would not be using any data.
But, you are right, the maps application on the iPhone does use data, but is a very small amount when compared to looking at photos or video.
