can you print/not print annotations?

here's the deal: i'm working on a workbook-style book for a major publisher, and for a variety of reasons i'm doing all the typesetting myself in pages. long story. anyhow, there are two versions: the student version, then an annotated instructors edition (AIE) that will have everything that the student version has, as well as answers to most of the questions in the workbook, and a variety of teaching tips for instructors.

what i would LOVE to have happen is to be able to keep just one version of each section, starting with the student edition. then i'd like to be able to somehow tag all of the additional content for the AIE as markup, and be able to print two versions to pdf: the student version with none of the "markup", and the AIE with everything. is this possible?

thanks!
