Hi Guys, I just upgraded from a macbook to a macbook pro and am disheartened to find that the pro 13inch does not have a line input. I need this for garage band. Please help.. How can i get around this

You will have to get a USB or Thunderbolt audio interface, or if you are directly attaching instruments like guitars then preferibly use an instrument preamp input. Those are the options you have for that system. Some suggestions I'd recommend are the following:
M-Audio MTrack (mroe for general recording)
Apogee Jam (one of the best bang-for-the-buck instrument interfaces)
