monitor stand for mac mini

Hi everyone, I know people have asked in the past about putting their monitors on top of their mac minis, which i think is a bad idea. Therefore I was wondering if anyone knows where I can buy a small shelf/stand for my monitor which will allow my mac mini to fit underneath it?

So far my only luck has been the Newer Technology company and their line of Nu stands, but for some reason they are not available in the UK and getting them shipped in the UK is very costly. Obviously I'm not looking for anything expensive, given that it's just a stand, and I'm not picky about style or colour. I really want my mac mini underneath my monitor - that's all. 🙂 I am surprised how difficult it has been to get an answer on this.

And could you use a VESA mount on your Monitor & just place the Mini under it?

All suggestions are perfect except for one thing, which I should have mentioned: I'm on a tight budget. The Sonnet 22UnderDesk or Back Monitor is £54.39 ($83.67) and the Twelve South HiRise Stand for iMac is £69.95 ($107.60) from the Apple UK Store. I think they are both a bit expensive for all that they do,

Ideally, I would love to buy something like the NuStand Mini (as sold by OWC).

This is only $34.99 (£22.75) and is made out of acrylic which has been specifically designed to store mac mini's under any monitor (not just Apple monitors). The only problem is I can't get it in the UK and to have shipped from the USA will cost another $70.

I understand that I might just have to bite the bullet and splash out (sorry to mix metaphors!), but I would hate to pay so much for something which is very basic and that I could have got far cheaper somewhere else.

Any further help would be greatly appreciated!
