How do I have image burn on my monitor? The image as only been there for an hour.

The image has only been sitting there for anhour while it downloaded.... I use the screen saver always and the actual desktop photo is NOT burnt in. We've had the computer since March '13. And I'm annoyed. Is there a way to fix it on my own or do I need to take it in? Also about 2 weeks ago I noticed subtle lines going across the screen so I restarted the computer to maybe calibrate it or something, it didn't. I don't know much about this stuff.
