I have a unique sitation with a Pool House. We set up a private wifi network so that we can use AirPlay and control App to control a Yamaha receiver. The service is not connected to the Internet. We want to use iPhones to stream Pandora, TuneIn, etc. via 3G and stream them via AirPlay.

All is good streaming the music to the phones but when the Wifi connect is made, then the app looks for connectivity via wifi that does not exist. The music goes away.

Is there a way to "force" the phone to use 3G for Internet service while keeping the wifi connection active?

Thanks,

To the best of my knowledge, it's either/or. The iPhone can either be connected to WiFi or to cellular, not both. If you're using the iPhone as a personal hotspot, it can share the cellular connection over WiFi to other devices.
