I cannot type a document using pages. I select blank document, it appears on my screen and then I can't type a letter or do aNYTHING AND aLL THE HELP don't tell me what I haVE TO DO TO BEGIN typing something in the new document. I haveonly been trying to

That is not user error.

Apple does not describe the differences between Word Processing templates and Layout templates any where obvious so it is not surprising that many users fall into this trap.

So in summary, use a blank Word Processing template from the labelled Template Chooser sidebar, and this is better described as User Interface error by Apple.

Hello Lousy8Help, I belive this is just a user error on your behalf.

So whats happening here is you are choosing blank document (under page layout which is also the first option in all), This means it is completely blank and you will need to add in a text box.

You need to choose "Blank Word Document" Under word Processing.

I hope this solves your issue.
