I recently wanted to install logic 9 on my laptop
I purchased logic 8 but dont have the serial number for it.
When I attempt to install logic 9 on my laptop it asks me for the key
how do I get around this

This is where you have to decide if you're really serious enough about wanting to use the software enough to buy it from the App Store. I'm an old hippy, so I don't dig multinational companies that much - I think the price of Logic now is pretty decent, to be honest.
