I have a Windows 7 Upgrade disc, can I use it to install Windows? Apple documentation says you can and then later says you can't. Is there a way to install Windows with an Upgrade disc or not? If so, how?

What have you got installed to upgrade? If you don't have a version of Windows already installed how couold you upgrade it?

Yes, I guess that's what I was deducing. So if I'm coming from Windows and had previously purchased an upgrade disc, the only way to get Windows on the Mac would be to buy the full Windows OS. Or I'd need to buy the full version of XP or Vista in order to use my upgrade disc...meh.

You have to do it if you want to install Windows legally, because it's possible to install Windows with an upgrade disc. However, you should buy the full version

Neither XP nor Vista will install and work with your Mountain Lion operating system. Get the full System Builder version of Windows 8 or get the full version of Windows 7.
