They are tricky to remove and put back on, because the plastic scissor key mechanisms are thin and very, very easy to break. They interlock with a spring-loaded plastic pin, so removing a key is easier if you have a thin flat non-cutting tool like a plastic spudger to gently lift the key and push the pin back to un-latch the key. Never, ever force a key off the keyboard by pulling too hard.
Then when you put it back on you have to precisely line up the mechanism and gently push the pin back a little to allow the mechanism to drop into place and then you release the pin to let it latch up again.
It is VERY easy to accidentally break off one of those tiny pins, and then you have a key that will always fall off. Always be careful.
Do it in bright light so you can see what you are doing.
