White MacBook 2006
2GB Ram
256 GB HDD - working condition, zeroed out, partitioned with GUID and journaled
Whenever I attempt to install OS X Snow Leopard via USB it tells me that it "could not be installed on your computer".
I can start up Disk Utility and see the drive listed on the left column.
Any advice?

A disk which originally shipped with a Mac can't be used to upgrade.

Ah yea, forgot to mention that I used a full retail disk that is not locked to a specific model to create the USB image.
You can't use a USB image to install 10.6 you need to use the DVD.
