I cant get my my screen to go full screen. Each side has one inch of black. Any suggestions to resolve this issue?

MacBook Pro (13-inch Late 2011), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

Hi lavidaesbella,


You probably do no have your screen resolution set to a high enough resolution. Check System Preferences>Display, and check the "Best for Built-in Display" option and try the full screen again. If it works, then the resolution you had it set at was what was preventing it from using the entire display area.
