it just keeps saying "itunes could not contact the ipad update software server because u are not connected to the internet: but i try safari and it works fine plus i switched my LAN settings too detect new settings automatically, im really at a loss here help me out pleaser

There are many posts about this same issue. Apparently there's a problem with the Apple app site. You'll just have to wait and try again later.
