I have locked the screen on the ipad mini by putting the password in too many times. How do I unlock it now?

My daughter's i-pad mini is locked due to putting the password in too many times. It has never been synced with the main computer. How do I get it to turn on now?

If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.

You may have to force iPad/iPod into Recovery Mode
