How to make iCloud.com show stuff that is in my iPad and iPhone?

I'm new to iCloud. I "think" I have everything setup correctly. It's hard to tell if you don't know what you are doing, as the myriad instructions are confusing and often contradictory. 😕

When I went to www.icloud.com last evening, I saw 2 of hundreds of calendar entries. This morning, I see nothing. I don't see any of my Notes.

What is happening? I'm confused by this "cloud" thingie!
