Apple say not possible to download both editions of Lana Del Rey's 'Born To Die' from store (but still take money for both). Anyone else had this issue?
Hullo folks...
Basically:
I purchased Lana Del Rey's Born To Die *and* the 'Paradise Edition' which has the original Born to Die tracks plus extra special edition tracks.
However ITunes store won't let me download all of 'Paradise Edition' because it considers the first half of the album (the original Born to Die tracks) as duplicates.
Here's what Apple say on the matter.
"Hi again Heath,
Thanks for writing back.
Unfortunately, the issue involves songs that have the same titles. So in your case, because you purchased the regular album and the "Paradise Edition" that have songs of the same title, when you download one song, the other song cannot be downloaded.
It isn't only effecting your account, as other customers have reported the issue as well.
Our engineers are still working on the issue, and I'll keep you updated regarding any progress that has been reported. Hopefully it won't be too much longer, however I am not able to give a timeline since our engineers are in a separate department.
Thanks again for your patience with all of this, Heath. Have a great day!"

I am now into month 3 of this ridiculous charade with no foreseable conclusion. I would be quite happy to accept a refund for Lana Del Rey's Born To Die: 'Paradise Edition' but Apple wont give me that. Does anyone know how long Apple has to delay provision of purchased content before it can be considered theft - if it is ever considered theft. Or do I just chalk this one up and kiss away my money.
This has implications for Greastest Hits albums, and compliation albums. Once you have a track in your download library you are never able again to receive that track if it is part of a Greatest Hits or a compliation. In effect purchased playlists are provided incomplete.
I am nearing the end of *month 3* of this ridiculous charade with no foreseable conclusion. I would be quite happy to accept a refund for Lana Del Rey's Born To Die : 'Paradise Edition' but Apple wont give me that. Does anyone know how long Apple has to delay provision of purchased content before it can be considered theft - (is it ever considered theft? they took my money without providing the goods...now going on for 4months )
Or do I just chalk this one up to a weird anomaly and kiss away my money, and purchase the special edition elsewhere. Im also prevented from getting the digital booklet.
What should I do about this situation?
Thanks
Heath Thomas
