Unlock an Ipod

hello there,

i have been trying to unlock an ipod. It keep saying "connect to itunes" I used the help on apple's site about it but it did not work. What am I supposed to do next?

What happens when you connect the iPod to your computer and restore via iTunes?

iTunes: Restoring iOS software

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

A dialog box pop-up instructing to to "try again", "more information", "cancel".

Basically it said "itunes could not connecto to the Ipod Touch because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on Ipod touch before it can be used with Itunes"
