MacBook Pro freezes on booting after RAM upgrade.

Hello, I just bought 8GB of RAM (2x4GB) to upgrade my MacBook Pro. Upon booting it goes to the white startup screen then the little loading wheel freezes. The RAM I bought is PNY DDR3 PC3-10666 and says it is compatible with Mac and compatible with 1333MHz AND 1066MHz so I'd assume it would work. The package says it's for laptops, and it says works with Mac so I'm confused why it isn't working. I am fairly tech savvy and installed the RAM following Apple's online instructions. Please help if you know how to fix it, I'd be surprised if it were a RAM issue even though the old RAM works when I put it back in....

Here is the link to the exact RAM I bought.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4), Ram says Mac compatible.

tosmon,

You purchased PNY RAM? It usually does not work well with Macs, as, no doubt, you're experiencing.

Return the PNY RAM and purchase either Crucial or OWC. Both are guaranteed to work with Macs.
