Ultrabeat 9-- paste beats from piano roll back into sequencer?

How can I paste beats from piano roll back into sequencer? The Paste button above sequencer doesn't do anything and drag'n'drop from selected notes in piano roll doesn't work....WHERE IS THE UltraBeat MANUAL!!...not in Logic Pro 9 manual. UltraBeat seems very one-way--it doesn't show what drum kit you used once it is dropped on the track--it is hard to know what was done if you want to repeat the sound later.

Logic Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

It's in the Instruments manual.

Thanks! I stand corrected--I thought there was only the one manual and no wonder I was having so much trouble. I now see there are multiple manuals. Maybe a solution is at hand after a weekend of frustration.
