how to remove audio from iPhone video to play separately

How do you remove the audio from an iPhone 4s video to play separately? I've read various answers but some were older. I have a Mac Book Pro with OS X10.7. I guess I'd copy the video first to have one copy with video and audio; then open the video in Quick Time on the laptop and follow the directions on http://www.macyourself.com/2012/01/14/extract-audio-from-any-video-file-on-a-mac / , or is there a better way? Thanks!

That pretentious jerk just read the topic title and ignored your original post. It's easy! Macs come with GarageBand. Open that application, create a new song, drag and drop your video from the finder window into the empty GarageBand song. It will create a video and audio track. Select the video track and go to track>delete track. This will leave only the audio track. Go to share>export to disk to save the audio to your computer!
