Q: Multi-Mac upgrade with single purchase question

I purchased a macbookair with mountain lion, will i be able to upgrade my iMac lion? how do i go about this? tia

    No, you would need to purchase Mountain Lion via the App Store first. Mountain Lion comes pre-installed on your machine but you still haven't purchased the Operating System. You must purchase it first. Then you can simply log in to the app store in lion, download ML, and install it on your iMac.

    To elaborate on what nbar said.  The copy of Mountain Lion on the new Macbook Air is licensed ONLY for your Macbook Air.

     

    If you purchase the Mountain Lion upgrade from the Apple App Store, you can install that upgrade on as many Macs you personally own or control (basically it is a family license covering your spouse and children).
