What can i do?
It's highly annoying when i'm not told about it turning itself off, and i don't recieve messages that the people sending are told i have recieved.
iPhone 5, iOS 6.1.4
Standard troubleshooting are:
Restart
Reset
Restore from backup
Restore as new
Have you done these?

I have now tried to restart, reset and restore as new! Even now as restored as new, imessage won't activate!!
I've tried everything it says there.. It basically comes down to restoring as new, and i have done that, but it still won't activate..
You're sure it's iMessage and not SMS?
SMS is a carrier feature, check with them.
yes i can send sms, i just can't send or recieve imessages
Have you tried signing out of iMessage, do a reset
Reset: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Note: You will not lose any data
then sign back in.

Is your Settings > General > Date & Time > Set Automatically: ON and the Time Zone correct?
If it's then it's high time you make an appointment with the Apple genius at an Apple Store.

No sorry, its working now though.... It just suddenly turned itself on again, and has been working fine after i upgraded to ios7...
This has been happening at random to me for several months now. It is very frustrating. No explanation.
