so my ipod touch 4g is about 2 1/2 years old and the battery last really good until it gets to about 80% and then its dead within 1 hour. i've tried everything including calibrating the battery and what not. and dont say get a new ipod because i dont have the money. im thinking about replacing the battery my self but im just making sure.

How long does it take to get to 80%? The % battery is not accurate. The test is how long a full charge lasts.
If it lasts lasts less than two hours or so after restore to factory settings/new iPod then I conclude it is the battery.
it takes about 25 min to get to 80% and the full charge will last me around 1 hour and 45 min. and i dont have a % i was just use voice over and then tap on the battery meter
