Jul 29, 2013 9:18 AM in response to 8763by EZ Jim,If you have not already done so, shut down Mac, restart, and try again. If the camera still does not work, try Apple's http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090 suggestions.
(Over time, Apple has changed the built-in camera's name on newer Macs from "iSight" to "FaceTime" and then to "FaceTime HD." Regardless of the name of your Mac's built-in camera, the same info and troubleshooting applies.)
Test more than one app in more than one user account. Do not use the "Guest" account for this test. If you don't already have multiple accounts, create a new account for this testing. If you need help creating a new user account, see http://support.apple.com/kb/VI32
If you need to use the "reset" suggestion, use care to employ the correct "reset" procedure for your specific Mac model.
If your camera still does not work, yours is most likely a hardware problem that will require a professional fix. Unless you have a current backup, make one now. Then "... contact Apple or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service."

Apr 20, 2014 12:16 PM in response to EZ Jimby jesscass,Hello There - I am having the same issue and the troubleshooting page on Apple's website does not have adequate information reflecting my macbook pro (there is no "System Profiler" under Utilities in the Applications).
Any assistance as to another place I can find this "System Profiler"?
Thanks.
