Help figuring out why MacBook isn't charging.

I have a mid-2010 13" white MacBook unibody laptop. My battery died a few months back & went looking for a replacement & the tools needed for the job. After months of research & lots of reading, I bought a battery from the most reliable source I could find, other than Apple because I've heard the horror stories & from what I've read off-brand batteries usually come from the same company as Apple & since my warranty ran out I'm not about to drop $130 on a battery I could get just as easily for about twice as cheap, purchased the necessary tools & went to work with the help of a friend who had a little more experience than I did to make sure I didn't strip any screws & did everything the correct way. After it was all said & done I realized I had forgotten my charger, but I wanted to make sure I had it all right & triple check to ensure I didn't get a shot battery & all that & followed all of the steps on the packaging of the new battery except for plugging in the computer to my AC adapter & ran into a few mishaps related to remembering my password & ended up running the battery down to 2%. I got my computer home & went to plug it in but my AC's charging indicator didn't even light up, even after trying both AC's I have, multiple outlets, switching out the wall plug-ins on both adapters, cleaning off both magnetic endings on the AC's & the magnetic connector on the computer itself. My best educated guess so far is either that the DC connection to the computer inside needs a good cleaning & to be fastened better, the actual DC itself needs to be replaced or the leader board (I'm freaking praying it's not that!) needs to be replaced. I could be wrong though & it could have something to do with me not charging the battery or something else entirely, I don't have any way to turn on my computer though, so resetting the SMC or anything else isn't a possibility to see of they're the culprit at the moment. But I've got a feeling it's something to do with the DC since I've had charging issues in the past, so hopefully it's just a cleaning that it needs & not a replacement so I don't have to shell out any more cash or poke around in too much more inside of my computer, but that could just be me doing some wishful thinking, haha. I don't want to go poking around in my computer's parts again though until I get feedback from someone whose more knowledgeable than I am, especially not if it's a lost cause or I'm completely off & messing with the wrong piece.

Thank you to anyone & everyone for any feedback! (: You guys will probably save me from totally screwing my stuff up, haha.
