Pixma MX810 scanner will no longer scan MacBook OSX version 10.6.8

My Pixma MX810 all-in-one printer will no longer scan to my MacBook OSX version 10.6.8. I have a whole box of ancient family pics I want to scan. I am no computer whiz. Just retired and now have time to do a few projects I had been putting off. It worked fine last year. Does anyone know how I can fix it????

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

Check to see if you need to update the drivers -

Printer and scanner software

Contact the printer manufacturer for assistance.

Is the MX connected directly to the Mac via USB? Because if it is connected via USB to a wireless device, like an Airport Express, then you cannot use scanner.
