white screen and won't hook up to itunes

My ipod touch 3rd gen quit working it shows a white screen when you try and do the restart by holding the sleep and home button it just turns the screen grey and than turns off. I don't mind having to reset and losing everything but it won't even find it in itunes to do that. Any help would be appreciated. I also have a Ipod touch 4th Gen that no longer works during a itunes upgrade something went wrong and now it shows the itunes logo and a usb cord. Any help to fix either would be great thanks

Try:

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

- Try on another computer

- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

First of all, you need to connect your 4th gen into itunes and update it. That will restore the ipod. As for your third gen, does it only not show up on iTunes? Have you tried any third party applications for PC/mac?

Thanks I did read the not responding or does not turn on it didn't help, also tried the DFU it doesn't work 😟 The 3rd Generation I have not tried on another computer but the 4th I did and it doesn't even show anything connected 😟 We did finally get the 3rd to recognize just by plugging it into the computer and I did a reset on it but than at the end it threw the code 3194 and stayed a white screen. That is the same code it throws on my 4th. Not having good luck with ipods 😟

I have tried to update and restore with Itunes on the 4th and it just throws the code 3194. The 3rd doesn't show up in itunes (although finally got it to read above post) it still shows a white screen 😟 Sorry I have not tried any third party apps I don't know what those are.
