Q: iPhone 4 overheating

I have a fairly new iPhone 4, and have recently been abroad with it, I have kept it out of direct sunlight however it was very hot, since then my battery life goes down very quickly and I have to charge it atleast twice a day, also it keeps getting very hot when I charge it, also when I don't. What does this mean, and is there anyway I can prevent it from happening?

When troubleshooting temperature, please refer to the following article:

When using the device or charging the battery, it is normal for it to get warm. The exterior of the device functions as a cooling surface that transfers heat from inside the device to the cooler air outside.

To isolate the issue further, you can restore your iPhone as new using the steps in this article:
