Canon MP 600 Driver for OS X Mountain Lion?

Anyone able to tell me if there is a driver for the Canon MP 600. I saw there was one recently added for the MP 600r. I installed the update but I can't get the scanner to work.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

The Apple Canon print drivers don't support scanning on the MP600. Only printing. Contact Canon Support to see if they're working on a driver (I've always found them to be very helpful).

There is a scanner driver and MP Navigator, which is the scanning application, for the MP600. But they are for 10.7, not 10.8.

Here is a link

I don't have access to an MP600, or even an MP600R that supported wireless connection, so I cannot test if the scanner driver or application will install and function on 10.8. Note that neither are digitally signed so Gatekeeper will block their installation. To install, right click (or Control-click if right click is not enabled) and select Open from the menu.

Hi.

I am looking for some further advice. I have recently bought a Mac having used PC's, I have managed to get my printer working but am having trouble getting my scanner to work.

I have followed the instructions above and installed the driver. the only issue is I cant seem to locate the driver or set up my scanner. My download location was Macintosh HD.

I have been looking on various support forums with no joy, any advice would be greatly received

Thanks

LHM

The scanner driver needs a scanning application. You cannot use it without one and it does not create a scanner entry in Print & Scan preference pane. And if someone suggests you can use Image Capture or Preview, they are wrong as there is no ICA driver on 10.8 for this model.

Canon provides the MP Navigator application for scanning, but as I mentioned above, without an MP600 I cannot be certain that the application will function if you can get it installed. So see if you can install MP Navigator. It will reside in Applications > Canon Utilities.
