My DVD wont play. I keep getting a message "the diskc you inserted is not readable by this computer". I get this no matter what disck I put in.
Can anyone help with this problem.

It's possible either the drive is dirty (specifically, the lens is), or the DVD laser has failed. Do CDs work?

If you live near an Apple Store, let them check it. Supposedly no charge for testing.
Thank you. Yes cd's work fine. The funny thing is that the external blu-ray drve I bought is also now corrupted with the same thinng.

Since DVD drives have two lasers; one for CDs and the other for DVDs, my first thought was one of lasers died. But with both drives having trouble, that's less likely. I also very much doubt both drives went bad at the same time.
