Do I have to travel 2+ hours to the nearest apple store if I want anything to be replaced for my warranty?

No. You can ship your device to Apple instead. You must call them to get an authorized repair number. They will ship a pre-paid container to ship your device to Apple.
You can use a local repair service if they are Apple certified.
There are multiple ways to get an iPhone replaced:
- Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP)
- Apple Retail Store (ARS)
- Postage Replacement

If there is nothing near you then depending on your country/region you may have postage options available.
