Q: Message on ipad mini start screen " This ipad hasn't been backed up in 2 weeks. Backups happen when this ipad is plugged in, locked and connected to wifi." I can't move past this message.

I recently lost my internet connection (now restored) but since then I have had the above message re icloud not having been backed up for two weeks. I am new to using an ipad and i cloud, but I thought it should update automatically. The i pad is plugged into a power source and is locked and should be connected to my wifi, however the loss of connection over the last 2 days may have affected this. The message ends with an OK button but I cannot get past this message out of my home screen to actually access anything on the ipad so cannot check whether it has reconnected to the wifi properly. What can I do?

Not to worry I found several other people with similar messages and using the same advice given to them have done a reset, which seems to have worked!

For any one else with a similar problem hold down start and home button until the applke appears and this seems to do the trick.

Thanks to those who have responded to others!
