Q: Language settings

I just bought an iPAD.  I live in Germany and have a German billing address; however, I only speak English.  When I go to iTunes or the Apple store, everything is in German.  I have my language settings set to English.  Please help!

With a german billing address used with your itunes account, you can only access the german itunes store.

To change the itunes store country...

    1. Tap "Settings"

    2. Tap "iTunes & App Stores"

    3. Tap on your Apple ID

    4.Tap "View Apple ID"

    5. Enter your user name and password.

    6. Tap "Country/Region."

    7. Tap "Change Country/Region"

    8. Select the region where you are located.

    9. Tap "Done".

pvonk - thank you but I have another problem.  When I try to download free Apps from the App Store, like Facebook, it asks me to sign in using my existing Apple ID - when I do that, it states "This Apple ID has not yet been used in the iTunes Store. Tap Review to sign in, then review your account information."  When I do that, everything is in German and I can't read it.  Help!

I don't want to go to the iTunes store, I just want to download free Apps from the App store -- is it possible without going to iTunes?

Well, on a computer's itunes, the app store is one of the services listed, so I guess the app store is part of itunes.
