I lost 3000 photos and have a iCloud account. How do I access those photos supposedly stored?

Basically,I had all the photos on my Mac. The very second I checked the "sharing" box, all the photos vanished off my Mac as well as my IPad. So if I wish to retrieve it how?..

You can't view photos at icloud.com with a browser, because the only photos than can exist on icloud are 1) in a backup of a device, not a mac, and 2) in photo stream (do you have it turned on?); but that only stores up to 1000 photos for up to 30 days.

When it comes to photos on a mac, icloud is not part of the equation, you must back up your mac if you ever lose file and want to restore them - Time Machine is the way to go.

Just for completeness's sake: 😝

and 3) Journals published to your iCloud homepage. But you need iPhoto on an IOS device to do that.

iPhoto for iOS (iPad): Share your journal as a webpage

and 4) Shared Photo Stream: iCloud: Using and troubleshooting Shared Photo Streams

Shared PhotoStreams do not expire after one month and can be pulished as a web page.

Mt. Lion allows you to view your photos as a web page, oonly this will not help clockworkmagic to retrieve the photos.

clockworkmagic: To repeat pvonk's question - we really need to know how you tried to share the photos:

The "sharing" box, exactly where is this? System preferences? iPhoto?...?
