Can I move the ever growing folder "Mobile Applications" to an external disk? And keeping to iTunes to download apps to that folder in the future?

iTunes doesn't provide a way to relocate just part of the library. You can either change the designated media folder and consolidate to it (you get to tidy the originals by hand), or move the entire iTunes library folder en masse to the external drive and then hold down option (shift on Windows) and open the library from its new location.

Can I move the entire iTunes to an external drive? iTunes music and mobile applications are in the music>itunes> folder. I wouldn't mind moving everything related to iTunes to an external drive. How to achieve this?
See my post Make a split library portable. You library may not be split, but these days the media folder should be named iTunes Media and the Mobile Applications folder should be inside it. The post should show you how to rearrange things safely, or you can ask further questions here. Once done you can copy the whole iTunes folder to a new drive then option-start iTunes to connect to it. Check it works properly, then delete the original if all is OK.
