Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

When I cut and paste the pg dump command, it says "role "collab" does not exist". Is it not a default?

Any thoughts on why I can't use the command specified in the guidance. And what is a "role" (is that a postgre user?)

A role is essentially a postgres user. Note that these instructions are for *Lion* and not *Mountain Lion*. Sounds like you want... http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5585
