In Mail, recover messages that have been removed from my mac

I'm running Mountain Lion (10.8.4). I have a pop gmail account set up in Mail. There is a mail message that I can't find anymore. It's not in any of the trash folders. If I right click on the mailbox on the left panel and select "Get Account Info" and select "Show Messages that have been removed from my mac" the message is listed. Is there a way that I can tell Mail to redownload that message?
