Somebody and tips? ideas?
Have you tried looking at the manufacturers web site for support?
Did you check if there is a new driver from the device manufacturer to support that device in your new operating system?
I did, it is not even mentioned there.

Then it won't work. USB devices need drivers specific to computer hardware and operating system in order to work.
I was afraid for that, does anybody know if there is an alterative way to find a driver, like a provider?
Anybody an idea? Suggestions for setting up in the network control panel maybe?
You can not set up that device if there are no drivers for it.
well I know that. however there must be drivers in my OS somewhere as it does work with one provider and not with an other. O2 OK, T-Mobile not. So I thought a driver update would do it.
Solved it. a lot of digging later my friend found a link in a Chines forum (he speaks Mandarin) and downloading this, made it work again.
It will put a new modem in the network panel called E17X, after you install the application and have ran it once. you can now also use this to connect or keep using the application (it has a SMS function in it too).
The download contains a file called MOBILE_CONNECT.dmg. That is the one that will install a application that will run the modem.
Strange as it is though, it ran fine with my O2 SIM on the connect button in the network panel, but refused to do the T-Mobile SIM.
it should work for these modems.
