Q: Apogee Duet 2 OLED problem

I've been using the Apogee Duet USB with Logic Pro 9 for about 6 months now. Up until 3 days ago, I had absolutely no problem with it. Now, the OLED display has suddenly become extremely dim, when compared to the normal brightness. My Macbook Pro runs on Mountain Lion, and has always run on the same. I've updated the firmware, tried resetting the device. No use. Does anybody know what the problem is? I'd be very grateful if you could help me out.

    Today, the same happened to me except that I am using a Mac Mini.

    After several restarts / unplugging / re-plugging the USB cable I noticed that in fact they are showing, but so dimly that unless I stick my nose up against the interface, it all looks dark. The rest of the audio side of the interface seems to be working okay and for now I can use the Maestro 2 app but it is quite an inconvenience.

    Is there a fix?

    I'm hoping that this is not a hardware problem as I am in Brazil and I need my duet every day, so cannot afford to send it away for repairs.
