Downloading the Original Sims

I just purchased the Mac version of Sims and tried to download it onto my mac and it kept telling me that I could not install it becase the powerpc applications were no longer supporrted on macs. Is there a way around this? Is there a way I could go and allow the powerpc to run or is there an adaptor I could download or Is there a different version of Sims that I would have to buy? I bought it because it specifically said it worked on mac OS X which I have. Is there just a certain way you have to download it? I put the disk in and dragged the folder to my Application folder and that didn't work so I dragged it on to the Macintosh HD Disk and that didn't work either...I'm not very computer savvy so please help!

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

Ally,

Unformtunately (for you) Macintosh computers have not used the PowerPC processor in about 12 years. Apple included a block in the Mac OS called Rosetta which allowed PPC applications to run even though the actual processor is an intel processor. In the last release of the Mac OS Apple dropped Rosetta permanenetly.

You only option is to create a virtual machine (using VirtualXo, VMWare Fusion, ot Parallels), then install Snow Leopard (two Mac OS X releases ago) and run the Sims in that.

As CSMSK indicated... you can also go back to the software maker and discuss this issue with them directly. WE can only make suggestions.
